Why this, why that, and why
Raise your hands up high, on your lips feel a sigh
You go down on your knees
Open your heart to the moon and the chilling breeze

Why this, why that, and why
Look up at the sky and wait for the lie
White grows gray, gray glows black
Nothing to say, ricochet those dead years back

Why this, why that, and why
Looking up the hill at the pie in the sky
Counting your chances, a thousand to one,
An ear on your heart, eyes on an eclipsed sun
